It is the oldest garden salad of all: the slightly bitter and earthy Romaine Lettuce. It is often used in Caesar Salads, but is also excellent in smoothies, in soups, on sandwiches or in wraps. It contains significantly more nutrients than other salads: especially vitamins A, K and C as well as folic acid. These are said to improve digestion, to promote weight loss and to even help with insomnia.
